Savvy Travellers Seek Out Budget-friendly Holidays in 2010
London, UK (PRWeb UK) April 8, 2010
New research from the Post Office has revealed that eight in 10 holidaymakers will adjust their travel plans this year in a bid to get the most out of their travel budgets . As saving money on holiday expenditures looks likely to continue as a priority in 2010, Post Office Travel Insurance reminds holidaymakers not to cut corners on vital holiday essentials, including travel insurance.
The Post Office Travel Insurance research found that UK travellers are set to save money by visiting alternative lower-cost holiday destinations, flying on budget airlines and staying in cheaper hotels .
However, Post Office Travel Insurance has also found that as many as 20 per cent of travellers fail to take out travel insurance before leaving the UK . Many holidaymakers might think they are saving money by forgoing travel insurance cover, but Post Office Travel Insurance reminds travellers that they risk substantial unforeseen costs if they cut back on such necessities.
Sarah Munro, head of Post Office Travel Services, said: “Although people are prepared to fly with budget airlines and stay in less expensive hotels, we’re urging people not to cut corners on their travel essentials. Always make sure you exchange enough travel money before you go in order to get the best rates and don’t scrimp on travel insurance.”
